About this work

Description

Ink drawing from a MS of the Qing period (1644-1911). It illustrates the sentence from Bian Que: 'The conjunction between the large and small intestine is lanmen (the ileocoecal conjunction)'. The ileocoecal conjunction is one of the Seven Rushing Portals (Qi chongmen). The term lanmen (lit. door screen) is descriptive.
