    The system of admitting Officials into Hospital is most satisfactory, and enables the Medical Officer to thoroughly study his patients and give them better attention than they would otherwise obtain. There is nothing to record of special medical or surgical interest except the very large proportion of the (Told Coast Constabulary on the sick list suffering from Guinea Worm, and the number of severe accident cases occurring towards the end of the year. In connection with the prevalence of Guinea Worm amongst the Hausas, little can be done; and until a really good supply of water is obtained for Accra, this disease will remain a source of constant trouble. Amongst the suggestions that occur to me, I consider one of primary importance, and that is the building of a small detached ward on the ground level, and some short distance from the General Hospital, for treating cases of Dysentery, Diarrhoea, and Gangrene, or other Diseases, which are a source of discomfort to other patients, and are calculated to produce very insanitary conditions in a general ward. I make this suggestion from careful observa¬ tion of such cases, and think the suggested improvement is, in every way, a necessity, the building required would only need accommodation for about six patients, and should have a concrete floor. A small room is at present used for such eases, and is overcrowded. 2nd.—A room or shed for the Hospital Krooboys to sleep in, as the present system of these boys sleeping far away from the Hospital is very unsatisfactory, An increase in the Krooboy labourers, four more would be required.
