About this work

Description

Artwork capturing the breath expelled by a person. Titled "Breathe", this artwork was created to immortalise the breath in an alternative form to portraiture. The person's breath was captured on a shiny copper surface and then etched to create a negative of the breath where it sat on the copper plate. In this way, spent breath was inscribed onto precious metal. This image forms a series of work which records the breath from individuals in order to make visible the dynamics of the human breath.
