About this work

Description

A film account of an operation on a 21 year-old man. The leak of C. S. F. (cerebral spinal fluid) is apparent when the patient leans forward and it drips from the tip of his nose. The operation is not shot in real-time; the patient is shown pre-operatively, the scalp is incised and then the operation proceeds. The surgeon drills into the skull and then the brain is exposed. A probe is passed through the fistula and into the nasal cavity. Credit is given to the surgeon; Mr Harvey Jackson at the end.
