    TO THE FOUETH EDITION. Less than two years having elapsed since the Third Edition was published, there are naturally not many changes to make in the present issue. The Author has, however, subjected the whole work to careful revision, and trusts that such alterations as have been made may render it still more worthy of the kind reception which it continues to receive from the profession, which he very gratefully acknowledges.
