For as sound health cannot be continued without good morals, so neither can sound morals be preserved without reli- gious sentiment. 2. Our children are committed to our care in a state of infancy, that, we may so regu- late their food, cloathing, exercise, and man- ner of thinking, as most effectually to prepare them for health and happiness. 3. While yet in their infant state, we per- ceive, thev have all the passions to urge them into action, but they require much time and pains to gain that experience, >vhich is neces- sary for the regulation of passion, which is too seldom gained even with riper years. 4.
