HE following obfervatlons on Italy, and on Italian manners, occurred in the courfe of the fame Tour in which thofe contained in a book lately publifhed, en- titled A Vieiv of Society and Manners in France^ Sivitzerlandy and Germany, were made. All who have read that book will perceive, at firft fight, that the prefent work is a continuation of the former; but to thofe w'ho have not, it was thought neceffary to account for the abrupt manner jn which the following Letters begin.
