About this work

Description

Three documents wholly or partially in Volta's hand. MS.8009/1 is a letter by Volta, dated 1793 and mounted with a magazine cutting showing the laying of a wreath at Volta's grave , apparently in the early 20th century. MS.8009/2 is a page of notes carrying an endorsement, dated 1840, that states the unsigned paper to be in Volta's hand; attached to this is a biographical cutting. MS.8009/3 is a record of students' passing a course at the University of Pavia in 1817/18, signed by Volta.
