Illustrated card novelty advertising [Scott & Bowne's] 'Scott's Emulsion' (of cod liver oil with hypophosphites and glycerine). The boy on the front "has been offered a substitute" for it and the disgust is plain to see in his face. The emulsion "is for all weak, emaciated tendencies. It enriches the blood, makes healthy flesh, solid bones, and gives strength and vitality to all. " Including babies. The card stands up when folded.
