(Left) The Bodhisatta, depicted as a youong prince, takes seven steps, followed by deva's, and declares himself supreme in the world. (Right) The Queen returns to Kappilavatthu in a palanquin and carrying the baby Bodhisatta. The ascetic or hermit Kaladevala learns of the Budhisatta's birth, and his subsuquent change into Buddha, and returns to King Suddhodana's palace
