About this work
Description
Collection of original and other letters, extracts and short works concerning Alchemy, mostly from Vincenzo Pezzi of Venice and Pesaro, addressed to the Marchese Francisco Maria Santinelli of Rome [1627-1697]. In Latin and Italian. Ff. 3-8 contain letters from an Abbate Laurentii, and ff. 12, 13 from Marc Antonio Crasselame, there are further letters from G. F. Laurencii, presumably the same person as those from the 'Abbate Laurentii', on ff. 258-288. Most of the other letters are from Pezzi, and some are partly in a numerical cypher. The collection has apparently formed part of a larger group of letters, as the leaves have been numbered by a 17th cent. owner, 74-94, 1-73, 258-354; as at present bound up, they are in this order. Produced in Venice, Pesaro.
