Description

David Bellamy researches the history of medicinal plants and finds that many of them are still used as vital ingredients of modern medicines. Part 3: "Floral Pharmacy" A perusal of Gerrard's Herbal is followed by a visit to the Chelsea Physic Garden where David Bellamy points out the medicinal properties of some of the plants and gives an anecdotal account of William Withering's discovery of digitalis. Also visits Dr. Bach's garden in Oxfordshire, source of the Bach Flower Remedies,and shows how past and present are united in a herbal medicine shop which uses a database.
