About this work

Description

At a time when medical science can increasingly prolong our lives, philosopher Peter Singer's views on what makes a human life worth living have inspired and outraged in equal measure. This programme investigates what shaped Singer's views which include believing that a newborn baby is not a person. We follow him as he meets the family of David Glass, a disabled boy who doctors attempted to give a lethal injection to when he was hospitalised for pneumonia, the family of Nancy Crick who used drugs to kill herself during a painful battle with cancer and the Rag-pickers Co-operative in Pune.
