Description

Molecular model of a dimer of Placental growth factor (PlGF) showing the disulphide bonds in yellow. This is a member of the cysteine-knot family of growth factors and is important in inducing the development of new blood vessels both during foetal development and in pathological conditions such as ischaemic heart disease and myocardial infarction.
