Description

Photostats of a letter by James Evans (fl.1841), Wesleyan missionary based at Upper Fort Garry on the forks of the Assineboin River, Hudson's Bay Territory, Canada, written to William Stinson, General Superintendant of Wesleyan Missions, in Toronto. With the letter Evans sends a set of detailed notes on the Cree language.

Two sets of copies, one positive and one negative. Attached is a note from Mr. Linstead of Wellcome Historical Medical Museum staff to Mr. Malcolm (Louis William Gordon Malcolm (1887-1946), Conservator of the Museum 1925-1934) returning the originals, and a small piece of paper carrying a display caption for the items.
