A ghost story set in Rostherne, Cheshire, involving a gipsy who foretells the marriage of Mary Spenser, who is shown on the right of the engraving after she has seen a ghost. She is discovered in the pantry of a house by her mother, the Thatcher, Corporal Crucifix, and "old Madge", who is shown on the staircase, left background
