Leaflet from 1936 advertising the Vi-Tan sun lamp which incorporates a fused quartz burner. The leaflet promotes the value of sunshine as playing "a vital part in the maintenance of health", something that workers in industrial areas are denied. The lamp provides ultra-violet rays which are "most active in tanning, beautifying, and tonic qualities". A young woman in a bathing costume,holding some device on a wire is on the front with a graphic representation of the sun above her and a photograph of the device at its centre. Other photographs show a man and a baby using the lamp.
