Reproduction note

After a painting which was formerly in the Orléans collection and sold from it, bought back in 1869 by the Duc d'Aumale and thence passed to the Musée Condé, Chantilly. The lettering "Galerie Delessert" implies that the painting had belonged to a member of the Swiss-French banking family of that name, possibly François-Marie Delessert (1780-1868)
