About this work

Description

Variae annotationes. Anni 1653, 1654, 1655, 1656. A common-place book in Latin and Italian containing mainly medical extracts, receipts, etc., with other entries on scientific subjects, together with notes on religious subjects, and verses in Italian and Latin. The latest date 1706 is found on p. 372. On the title is a monogram ADC, and the author's surname appears on p. 275 as 'D. A. Ciminus' at the end of a short work on rhetoric in Latin, which is dated 1663. A Giuliano Cimino is mentioned on p. 355 as having been elected 'Sindico of Afragola ion 25 August, 1703'. Pp. 300-335, apparently written by a different hand, contain 'La Pace in Guerra, Scherzo Drammatico del Sig D. Felippo de Raymo. Musica del Sig. Nicolo Sabino,' followed by 'Il Sole fra l'Ombre, Melodrama sacro' by the same author and composer. Produced in Afragola.
