This drawing is in the Kalighat style, produced in the 19th and early 20th centuries by local bazaar artists around Calcutta's great Kali temple for selling to visiting pilgrims. These bold, highly simplified folk paintings depicted Hindu deities and scenes of everyday Bengali life
