Dumfries and Galloway Council purchased much of Crichton Royal Hospital estate with the exception of Crichton Hall and the Hospice in July 1995. The estate was leased to the Crichton Trust and managed by their subsidiary organisation, the Crichton Development Company, who redeveloped the site.
