Owing to differences in the sizes of the wall-cases, it has not, however, been found possible to make the serial arrangement of the various groups correspond exactly with the one adopted in this guide. The following is a brief survey of the leading characteristics of the different orders and sub-orders of reptiles, and also of the more important family groups by which existing orders and sub-orders are represented. Order I.—ORNITHOSAURIA (extinct). (Case 4.)
