Description
Gross pathology of brain: cerebral toxoplasmosis
This is the temporal lobe at autopsy of a patient who had previously been treated for focal cerebral lesions caused by toxoplasmosis. In the white matter is a 2 × 3 cm defined grey, necrotic area. This is a healing lesion with a well defined margin. Routine light microscopy showed no parasites, but with immunocytochemistry, they could be seen.
