    digestion. You will notice, therefore, that the effects of drinking water and milk respectively before taking alcohol are very different on the subsequent states of intoxication. In the case of water the intoxication may be more rapid and quite as intense, whereas after milk the intoxication will certainly be greatly diminished. These effects are seen in Fig. 11.
