West Hartlepool, 17th January, 1895. TO THE CHAIRMAN AND MEMBERS. Gentlemen, I herewith present my Annual Report for the year 1894. HOSPITAL. During the year 1894 there have been admitted into the Port Sanitary Hospital 40 cases as compared with 49 the previous year, suffering from the following infectious diseases, namely :— Small-pox Typhoid Fever ... Diarrhoea (severe) Diphtheria Influenza 20 cases 15 >1 40 Of these 40 cases, 25 came from West Hartlepool, 10 from Hartlepool, and 5 from ships. Of the 20 cases of Small-pox admitted, 11 came from West Hartlepool, and 9 from Hartlepool. It is difficult to trace the origin of the disease, but there is no doubt that both towns got it from the same source.
