About this work

Description

An animal rights worker, opposed to the violent activities of the Animal Liberation Front (ALF), decided to infiltrate that organisation in order to expose its extreme actions. He found that ALF members were engaged in violence against the homes and properties of those whom they targeted. Bomb manufacturing and money laundering were carried out. Another witness, a former ALF activist, claims that assassination plans exist. The infiltrator was later kidnapped by the ALF and subjected to serious physical assault. No ALF activists were brought to justice as a result of his investigation. Among those taking part in the programme are Prof Paul Wilkinson (Institute for the Study of Terrorism), Dr Mark Mattfield (Research Defence Society) and Prof Colin Blakemore (Oxford University) who has often been the target of ALF violence.
