About this work

Description

A chicago doctor insists that his daughter's suitor agrees to a medical examination before the marriage. His reasons for this demand are illustrated in what forms the main part of the film - a complicated history of tragedies resulting from marriages between people with a dark history of hereditary defects. The past of one character includes the death of his mother from an epileptic fit. The film includes the promotion of euthanasia for babies born with hereditary defects. There is a happy ending for the couple - they are fit to marry.
