Description
A documentary looking back over the life and work of Jamaican nurse and unsung heroine of the Crimean War, Mary Seacole. The programme is based almost entirely on her autobiography, sequences of which are re-enacted dramatically by actress Angela Bruce. These sequences tell of how she established the British Hotel for wounded soldiers and of her meeting with Florence Nightingale in Turkey.
