It is proper, however, that you fhould have a general idea of the oeconomyof Nature in the circulation of the blood, to underftand the practice that will be laid down, and to enable you to adapt it to particular cafes. “ In the blood is the life of man.” That is to fay, this fluid contains the principles of nourifhment, and diftributes them to every part of the body for its fupply and refrefhment; like the water of the great ocean, which conveys the riches and good things of the world to every quarter of the globe.
