Notes

There are two vertical spaces marked on the card presumably for fashion plates for customers to detach. In the showcard catalogued, the spaces are occupied by two small engravings, which are catalogued in the Wellcome Library catalogue as nos. 39570i and 39571i. At least one of the engravings ("The bird's nest", by S Freeman after Richard Westall) was published by the same publisher as The ladies' pocket magazine and gem of fashion (J. Robins of Bride Court, London). It may therefore be that sentimental prints such as the two mentioned were also displayed on this showcard (i.e. the card is not just being used as a mount for the engravings)
