Biographical note

Erich (later Eric) Kurt Ledermann was born in Berlin in 1908. He qualified in medicine before leaving Berlin in 1933. The following year he re-qualified in Edinburgh and started work at Glasgow Homeopathic Hospital as a house physician.

Ledermann moved to London in 1936 to open his own private practice, work he later combined with consultancy roles at the Royal London Homeopathic Hospital and the Marlborough Psychiatric Day Hospital. He also practised at the Nature Cure Clinic for over fifty years, and published several books on natural therapy.

Eric Karl Lebermann had a life long interest in philosophy and holistic medicine. In later years he also developed an interest in acupuncture, and received an honorary membership of the Chinese Medical Institute and Register in 2001.
