    station on the Main and Weser railway, 740 feet above the sea, has a reputation lor the treatment of uric-acid concre- tions (renal calculi)and chronic catarrh of the bladder. Besides a tolerably pure gaseous chalybeate spring, it has two others which are used in the treatment of the above- named affections—the Georg- P'icior and the Helenen- Quelle. Heln. oo59 8'oi6 0-494 6-494 5'47i 9'753 5-471 10-474 o i6i 0-143 083 0-213 527 0-107 150 0-238 Cubic ins. 33 34 These springs (especially the second) contain, it will be seen, a considerable quantity of the earthy carbonates of magnesia and lime, and the second a fair amount of car- bonate of soda and chloride of sodium, with abundance of carbonic-acid. These springs are antacid and diuretic in their effect, and they are in- jected locally into fhe bladder as well as drunk. They are taken in considerable quan- tity and for a long time, and produce good results partly by their antacid constituents and partly by their simple solvent and diuretic effect. The weaker spring is often used dietetically in conjunc- tion with the employment of .such stronger waters as those of Vichy and Carlsbad.
