About this work
Description
The first part of the audio recording is of the AGM of the Brook Advisory Centre's AGM which took place in 1971. The speaker is introduced; this is Dr Malcolm Potts who talks about his vision for the provision of family planning (contraception) in terms of what kinds of contraception might be available and also be the most convenient for young people. He also comments on the differing pregnancy rates in young people around the World and the need for a non-invasive abortion service available to young people who are less than 12 weeks pregnant. There are some questions (speakers are a bit indistinct). He then answers questions about post-abortion/postpartum family planning and the best time to offer counselling or implementing contraception. The second part of the recording starts with a female speaker; she discusses a court case where the organisation has taken action against a doctor.
