Description

The portrait of Jesus Christ which is venerated in the church of Saint Bartholomew of the Armenians in Genoa. According to the Acta Thaddaei, it was made by Jesus by pressing a cloth against his face and was sent to King Abgar of Edessa, hence the name: the sudarium of Abgar, also known as the Holy Face of Edessa and the Mandylion of Genoa
