About this work

Description

Les entrétiens fleuristes d'Arcas et de Damon. Calendrier ou Vie des Saints de tous les jours. Almanach perpétuel et prophéties curieuses, etc. Possibly a holograph MS. by the Abbé Accard of Neufchâtel: it is in verse throughout, and is dedicated to 'Fidèle Joseph Hubart en réligion de l'Abbaye de Beaubec.' The 16 pp. at the end contain a contemporary [?] copy of 'Lettre pastorale de Monseigneur l'illustrissime et révérendissime Evêque et Comte de Chalons sur Saône au sujet des danses', dated from Fontainebleau 23 July 1666. The author of this violent attack on country dances is Jean XIV de Maupéou, Bishop of Chalons from 1658 to 1677.
