About this work

Description

An artwork by Tuberculosis Patient 6 which shows a landscape with tall mountains in the background; grass and a tree in the foreground.

In a note on the verso, Rita Simon has written: "TB - well adjusted, as far as one can see, to illness after 6 months painting."

In notes dictated to Wellcome staff between 1995 and 1997, Rita Simon described this painting as "massively overpainted." The mountains with flattened areas in the foreground suggested a depressive element. She felt that this prevented the otherwise Traditional piainting from achieving "true consistent mass."

The title has been provided by the cataloguer for identification purposes.

Rita Simon classified this artwork as Massive Transitional.
