About this work

Description

Original letter in Burroughs's hand (without signature). Argues the case for "blotting pad ads" for the Calcutta exhibition, and argues strongly for the introduction of an oil of eucalyptus product.

After making the case for "Eucalyptia," Burroughs writes: "I am not much surprised that you paid apparently no attention to my numerous letters from Australia regarding this article until six months afterward when you venture to remark that 'it may be worthy of consideration'. Your indifference was my reason for registering Eucalyptia as a trade mark in this country in my own name[.]" Remarks follow on registering the name "Hazeline".
