PUBLIC DEBT The Public Debt of the Colony was £4,822,007 on 31st December, ~an(* linking Funds for its amortisation had accumulated to ~~>281 on lhe same date. Interest and redemption charges amounted £254,383. The sums of £9,900 and £26,850 respectively were subscribed locally the loans of £2,030,000 and £1,680,000 which were raised in 1950 a 1953.
