Lettering

A clenched fist in absolute fury. I went into Chipstead Church alone. Thinking that I am more interested in the dead than the living -- of Doctor Yates. I thought of her with beautiful sad thoughts and how beautiful the arches of the church were. Then I went out and without warning I was overcome with absolute fury. I have no idea why. Except that it always makes me ill to go to church. Bishop November 67 The subject, the name of the artist and the date are inscribed by Edward Adamson on the verso
