Description

Reproduction of a facsimile of page 19 from the book Linne, Carl von: Systema Naturae,1740 (2nd edition) showing the earliest known reference to Cinchona (Quinquina Cond.) by Linnaeus. The page was possibly reproduced as part of the facsimiles lent by The Linnean Society of London and exhibited in Malaria section of the international celebration and exhibition : three hundredth anniversary of the first recognized use of cinchona by Europeans, 1630-1930 hosted by the Wellcome Historical Medical Museum in 1930. The facsimile is listed as exhibit no. 877 in the souvenir catalogue, and is not held by Wellcome Collection.
