Description

Wooden statue of St Herve, also known as Harvey, Herveus and Houarniaule, 6th century Breton saint, one of the six healing saints from Notre Dame du Haut, Moncontour, Brittany. The item was purchased by the Wellcome Historical Medical Museum in 1928 and accessioned in 1937 (accession number R2411/1937). It is not held by Wellcome Collection.

Wooden statue of St Apollonia, patron saint of dentistry and invoked against toothache and troubles connected with teeth. The item was purchased by the Wellcome Historical Medical Museum in 1928 and accessioned in 1937 (accession number R4771/1937). It is not held by Wellcome Collection.

Wooden statue of St Giles, also known as Giles the Hermit (7th century). Invoked against sterility, cancer, epilepsy and invalidism. The item was purchased by the Wellcome Historical Medical Museum in 1928 and accessioned in 1937 (accession number R4768/1937). It is not held by Wellcome Collection.
