Description

Photograph of four charmes against rheumatism: an inscribed wooden peg from India;an Indian eye stone;a copper ring made from of an English penny;a Richardson magneto-galvanic pendant from England. The peg was purchased at auction by the Wellcome Historical Medical Museum in 1933 and accessioned in 1936 (accession number R12260/1936). The magneto-galvanic pendant was acquired by the Museum at an unknown point and accessioned first in 1916 and then in 1936 (accession numbers R2106 and R11233/1936). The other items were acquired by the Museum at an unknown point. None of the items are held by Wellcome Collection.
