![Other Foods. The following articles of food were condemned during the year as unfit for human consumption :— 30-lbs. of prunes. 30-lbs. of sultanas. Food & Drugs Act, 1938. The County Council is the Food and Drugs Authority under the Food and Drugs Act, 1938, and deals with adulteration of food, etc. During the year 92 samples were obtained ; of these 63 were of milk, and the 29 others comprised :— 2 fish paste. 2 oatmeal. 1 coffee. 1 gravy browning. 1 condensed milk skimmed sweetened. 1 butter. 1 honey. 1 compound syrup of figs. 1 raisins. 1 custard powder. 3 semolina. 1 plums, canned. 1 coffee and chicory essence. 4 sweets. 1 margarine. 2 mustard compound. 1 ham. 1 baking powder. 2 beef sausage. In addition, 5 “appeal-to-cow” samples were obtained. All the above samples were certified by the County Analyst to be genuine with the exception of the following :— Sample. Result of Analysis.
