![This is a very useful little book for reference purpoaes, and some such should be at the disposal of every nurse, more especially in the earlj' days of traiiiinj;. It comprises not only what its name implies, but a description of tlie common abbreviations used, of many instruments, drugs, etc.—The Birmingham Medical Beview. This is a small and convenient mauual, compiled for the use of nurses more particularly, and, therefore, includinf; technical terms, the precise significance of which may uot always be readily remembered. A portable handbook of this kind, which can be consulted at a moment's notice, will prove a boon, if only for the saving of much of the time and labour involved in searching into books which are uot only larger but more complicated. The aim of the work is unpretending but practical, and the plan of it is to be commended. Where mere definitions alone are not thought enough, particulars are given in a very commodious form. —The Queen. In haudsome cloth boards, 150 pp., illustrated, price 2s. 6d. (post free).
