The effects of love : being a true copy of verses, supposed to be written by Janet Parker, a young woman about 24 years of age, in Sandgate, in Newcastle upon Tyne, who hanged herself on Monday last, the 13th of February, 1792, for the loss of her sweetheart; and this was found wrapped up in a letter near the place where the melancholy affair happened.

Poem about a young woman who killed herself after her lover left her for another, having left her pregnant and promising to marry her. The last verse asks for mercy from God and support from Jesus Christ.
