Very similar to a photograph of a woman of the Sara tribe published in Jean Brunhes, Races, Paris 1930 (Wellcome Library catalogue no. 645684i)

The bust may have been produced by Malvina Hoffman for her exhibition "The races of mankind" commissioned by the Field Museum, Chicago, in 1930 and on exhibition from 1933 to 1968
