Description

Poster, printed in dark blue, red and black on white paper, advertising the appearance of Chang, a chinese giant (over 8 feet tall) in some sort of variety show at the Royal Aquarium (a large exhibition hall and theatre built in 1876 and demolished in 1902 on the site of the current Central Hall opposite Westminster Abbey, London). The poster shows Chang in a full length gown, left arm raised above the head of a guardsman standing next to him. It was printed by Aubert's Steam Printing Works, 11 Maiden Lane, Strand, London.
