Copy 1. Supplier/Donor: Med. Soc. Lond. Bound in 17th century calf, rebacked, initials M.B. gold-stamped on upper board. Four leaves of 17th century manuscript comprising an index are bound in before 'Del modo di distillare le acque da tutte le piante'. British Museum stamp and sale duplicate 1787 stamp on title page verso. This book was formerly part of the collection of the Medical Society of London, which was deposited for safekeeping in the Wellcome Library in 1964. It was eventually purchased by the Wellcome Trust in 1984, with assistance from the National Heritage Memorial Fund and other charities.
