About this work

Description

"ROOTS colouring zines are all about mindfulness, creativity, getting back to nature and raising money for vital causes whilst we are at it. Part sketch-book / part zine, this limited edition artist colouring book celebrates two very specific plants: the fern and the dandelion. Why those two plants? In 2018 Bryony&Bloom worked with a St Mungo’s homeless project in London to create a mural in the garden of one of its shelters and residents chose ferns and dandelions as the subject, a reference to themes of resilience, hope, protection and an ability to grow almost anywhere. Filled with hand-drawn illustrations interwoven with facts and folklore, this zine is an invitation to bring these plants to life with crayons, pencils and paints in whatever way you wish - there are no wrong colours! Each A5 zine is printed, assembled and signed by Bryony in the studio. There is also this Spotify playlist ROOTS: Colour with Bryony&Bloom to inspire as you colour."----From zinester's website. https://www.bryonyandbloom.com/shop/p/resilient-roots-colouring-zine

Title from cover.
No. 30 of 1000, cover hand-numbered and signed by the zinester.
"This supports St Mungo’s, which is working to prevent homelessness and support people at every step of their recovery from homelessness. The teams at St Mungo’s are always looking for creative mindfulness activities such as the ROOTS colouring zines, particularly during the strange world of isolation and distancing we all find ourselves in right now. Therefore, in addition to the donation of 50% of all profits from sales, Bryony&Bloom will also be sending packs of zines to St Mungo’s centres so a big thank you for helping to raise money for this vital work."--From zinester's website.
