About this work
Description
Clinical histories of a large number of cases of persons of all ages and both sexes. The cases are mostly medical. As most of the patients have Scottish names, it is most probable that they were treated at Edinburgh Infirmary and that the book was written by a pupil of Dr. John Gregory (cf. MS.MSL.58D).
The dates range from November 1778 to November 1779. Shorthand is used on folios 202 and 212.
The name of the writer is unknown.
The beginning of the book is missing, the first page being numbered 17.
Publication/Creation
1778-1779
Physical description
236 folios 8vo. 18.5 × 11 cm. Modern binding. The book had been previously bound, and the first binder shaved the edges so closely that the writing is often cut into.
